The first edition of Sónar Lisboa closes its musical program

The countdown begins for Sónar Lisboa 2022, which will be held on April 8, 9 and 10 in different emblematic places in the Portuguese capital.
The inaugural edition will offer more than 70 shows, including performances by Arca, Bicep, Thundercat, Leon Vynehall, Polo & Pan and DJ Nigga Fox; and DJ sets by The Blaze, Charlotte de Witte, Nina Kraviz, Richie Hawtin, Honey Dijon, Dixon and Nídia, among many others.
Arca, Biceps, DJ Shadow, Partiboi69, Overmono, Dixon and Richie Hawtin are some of the most prominent international names among the 40 acts that have joined the Sonar Lisbon 2022 line-up today.
They join the previously announced acts The Blaze, Charlotte de Witte, Nina Kraviz, Floating Points, India Jordan, Honey Dijon, Héctor Oaks, Nicola Cruz, Thundercat, and many more.

The vibrant Portuguese scene is widely represented throughout the programming. DJ Marfox, Shaka Lion, DJ Lycox and nidia have already been announced, and now others like BLEID, Acid Alice, Violet live, Helena Guedes, and an acclaimed live performance by the Angolan-Portuguese DJ Nigga Fox, have been added to the list.
The festival will take place on April 8, 9 and 10 at Pavilhão Carlos Lopes, Coliseu dos Recreios and Centro de Congressos de Lisboa, with Hub Criativo do Beato hosting the Sonar+D program. These four iconic spaces will showcase the Portuguese capital at its best and serve as venues for a journey of discovery through music, creativity and cutting-edge technology.
Sónar by Day – Friday 8, Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 April
Sonar per day the activities will begin on Friday, April 8 at the Hub Criativo do Beato, located in the Fábrica do Pão de Factory Lisboa. A full program of conferences, workshops, debates, demos, immersive experiences and exhibitions will take place there, as well as meetings between professionals and the general public.
The lectures will explore the intersections between art and creativity, between technology and research, and between music and science, with Our planet and humanity as the main themes. For three days, the program will use virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence (AI) and visual arts to explore the theme of sustainability.
On Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 April, the musical program of Sonar per day will occupy the Pavilhão Carlos Lopes. On Saturday, the French house sound of the fire (DJ); Dijon honeythe dynamic and powerful mix of disco, house and techno; and a live performance by the Ecuadorian producer Nicholas Cruz capturing sounds from around the world, will take center stage.
On Sunday, Sonar Lisbon will dance to the rhythm of 90s station wagons – with a touch of British garage – during SurmonoDJ set and groove on Jayda Gfusion of Chicago-house and lo-fi glamour, plus a highly anticipated set of pop-flavored sampletronica from the French duo Polo and pan.
Sónar by Night, Friday 8 and Saturday 9 April
Night sonar will extend its musical program between Friday and Saturday, both at the Pavilhão Carlos Lopes and at the Coliseu dos Recreios and the Centro de Congressos de Lisboa.
Friday night, April 8, will feature high-quality live performances, including Venezuelan groundbreaking artist Arca, making his Lisbon debut to present his highly acclaimed quartet of recently released albums, cult Detroit producer Ray 313 or multi-instrumentalist from Los Angeles thundercat.
High-flying club music will be represented by a host of undisputed modern icons, such as Charlotte de Witte and Dixon, as well as legends of the scene who continue to innovate today, such as richie hawtin. Other hot names, like Madrid Hector Oaks, or adventurous DJs like DJ Nigga Fox, BLID and nidia, representing the most avant-garde sounds of the Portuguese underground, will also be present on the stand.
Eclecticism takes over Sonar Lisbon on Saturday April 9. from Northern Ireland Matt McBriar and Andy Ferguson will present his latest album He is live, show why Biceps is one of the biggest names in contemporary electronic music. Among the highlights: an acid techno recital by Nina Kraviz; the percussive bass sound of Dengue fever Dengue fever Dengue fever; Enchufada Na Zona showcasing Lisbon’s unique cultural mix, a groundbreaking new live set from Leon Vynehall; australian ghetto-freak Partiboi69; two dancefloor demolition masterclasses in Berlin, with FJAAK live and Ellen Allen b2b Dr Rubinstein; and the wild and borderless rejoicings of rRoxymore.
