Southern Naval Command hosts music concert to commemorate Navy Day

Kochi (Kerala) [India], December 3 (ANI): As part of the 2021 Navy Week celebrations and to commemorate India’s glorious victory in the 1971 war, a symphony concert of the Navy Marching Band was organized by the Southern Naval Command Band led by Lt. Commander Pradeep Kumar, Officer Command Musician at Sagarika Auditorium, Kochi Naval Base, Friday.
The group has performed a variety of repertoires ranging from Western Classical, Indian Classical, Military Martial Music, Marches, Musicals, Carols of Hollywood and Bollywood songs, instrumental music to saxophone, including patriotic music.
Vice Admiral MA Hampiholi AVSM, NM, Commander-in-Chief General Officer of Southern Naval Command hosted the event and Arif Mohammad Khan, Governor of Kerala chaired the event as the guest of honor who expressed his gratitude to all naval personnel on the eve of Navy Day.
The songs were specially composed to thank and pay tribute to the heroes of the 1971 war who thrilled the audience present at the scene. A photo exhibit was also held to showcase activities undertaken by Southern Naval Command over the past year, including HADR operations, rescue missions, Samudra Setu, green initiatives and photos from the 1971 war. leading to “Swarnim Vijay Varsh”.
