Song preview: Norii explains that she fell in love on “I Don’t Love You Anymore”
San Diego independent artist Norii puts her whole heart into her voice in “I Don’t Love You Anymore,” a song reflecting a relationship damaged due to a change in her feelings.
Norii is a motivated 23-year-old artist who writes and co-produces her music alongside the composition and production team Supperclub. She works everyday to show the world who she is as an artist, as she does all of her public relations work on her own. Norii is also working on a math degree while progressing to the top as an artist.
“I don’t love you anymore” consists of raw, emotional lyrics that describe the mix of emotions she feels as the love she once had for someone suddenly and quickly fades.
“It’s about when I fell in love with an ex out of the blue,” Norii said. “It’s a pop song to begin with, but the production takes a page of the old school, wall of sound for an emotional punch.”
Mixing the playful pop rhythm of the piano with Norii’s voice that truly exposes her feelings of confusion and frustration creates a track that the misunderstood collides. Most of the heartbreaking songs come from the broken heart point of view, but this time it’s from the heartbreaker. Norii gives voice to those who feel guilty for having fallen in love but prefer not to continue a broken relationship.
Norii sings in chorus: “Do you remember all of our plans? / Running away to France and not telling anyone / Growing old and laughing at our history / Well, I changed my mind.
Sometimes in life you meet someone who can seem like the perfect fit. They can understand how your mind works and how your emotions work. They can share the same dreams and aspirations with you; they may even have the same tastes in music and movies as you. It may get too good to be true, and something clicks in your head and heart that makes the spark go away. Norii shares what she thinks about leaving her spark with someone she thought was her forever.
Be on the lookout for Norii’s “Je ne t’aime plus”, which will be released on June 25 on all platforms! Prepare your handkerchiefs because it expresses too well the feeling of not loving any more.
