Shinedown can still draw its public attention to WARNING WARNING, but behind the scenes, work is underway on their seventh studio album. While speaking with WSOU 89.5 FM from New Jersey (as seen below), frontman Brent Smith even pointed out a timeline for when new music might arrive.

“I can tell you right away the first single, you’ll hear it in the first month of 2022. And I hope a few months later there will be a [full-length] record, ”said the group leader. The band moved to a studio in Charleston, South Carolina, to record the effort with the band’s own bassist, Eric Bass, in production.

The group’s most recent album, WARNING WARNING, was released in 2018, but the group is still enjoying some return from the effort as a feature-length film directed by Bill Yukich bearing the title and starring the music from the album is expected to arrive on digital VOD and cable on September 3.

The group appears in the film with actors Melora Walters (Magnolia, PEN15) and Francesca Eastwood (Old, Twin peaks).

Shinedown also hits the road in September and October for a fall tour. The trek begins September 6 in Canfield, Ohio and continues through to a final on October 9 in Orlando, Florida. See all dates and get ticketing information here.
