See Redlands High School’s ‘Grease’ Production May 5-7 – Redlands Daily Facts
Redlands High School will perform the high school version of the musical “Grease” from 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, May 5-7, at the Clock Auditorium on the RHS campus, 840 E. Citrus Ave.
It is the first musical at Redlands High School since 2016, and the production is a collaboration of the school’s Theater Arts Department, led by Joy Baden; vocal music department, headed by Jesse Diaz; and instrumental music department, led by Brandon Hansen, according to a press release.
The high school version of “Grease” is a shorter version of the 1971 musical comedy by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, set in an American high school in the 1950s.
Tickets are $8 to $15, available at redlands.booktix.com/ or at the door on the night of the show. The ticket office opens at 6:15 p.m.
Joy Baden is directing production and Kent Hayworth is the technical director.
In the cast are Elijah Patino as Danny Zuko, Esther Panggabean as Sandy Dumbrowski, Jazui Mejia as Betty Rizzo, Lauren Moreno as Frenchy, Emy Meinke as Marty, Lara Baden as Jan, Axel Padilla as Doody, Jonathan Sumanti as Kenickie and Jonathan Gill as Sonny Latierri.
Others are Noah Nguyan as Roger, William Harrison as Vince Fontaine, Hannah Tran as Cha-Cha aka Charlene DiGregorio, Sanjana Fernando as Eugene Florczyk, Joshua Sumanti as Johnny Casino, Leslie Simamora as Teen Angel, Cameron Kiley as Miss Lynch, Kiley Aranda as Patty Simcox and Grace Sanchez as Radio Voice Singer.
Across the board as Pink Ladies, Burger Palace Boys and Angels are Victoria Van Stee, Daniel Ghostine, Rowan Detloff, Sage Horan, Grace Sanchez and Lanaya Situmorang.
Over 50 students are involved behind the scenes, with some working on more than one team.
The make-up and hair team, led by Aimee Monge, includes JoAnna Lyle, Larrissa Nunoz, Paridhi Maske, Alexandra McCurdy, Cammeron McDuffee, Diego Reyes, Sierra Mason, Savinah Villarino, Mani Johnson, Charlie Davis, Nicole Austin and Mars Cook .
Technical team members are Matthew Connelly, Cheng Lucy Wang, Jaidyn Alford Elizondo, Ryan Blood, Matthew Keating, Tiffany So-Lee, Alison Klemm, Quenie Fornotes, Brandie Valdivia, Morgan Stewart, Draven Negrete, Mary Candelaria, Gabrielle Valdivia , Lovely Burnell, Jayleen Cerillo, Alex Schroeder and Axel Padilla.
The costume team, led by Eli Snowhite and Lara Baden, includes Mars Cook, Victoria Van Stee, Alex McCurdy, Sierra Mason, Perry Maske, Sofia Gooch, Joanna Lyle, Alison Klemm, Kaida Stalbert and Cynthia Rangel.
The accessories team, led by Sanjana Fernando, includes Lashmi Mancilla, Matthew Connelly, Kaida Stalbert, Joshua Sumanti and Michaela Candray Walker.
The marketing team, led by Lauren Moreno, includes Alison Klemm, Kaida Stalbert, Hannah Tran, Sierra Mason and Lanaya Situmorang.
