Nina Diaz of Girl in a Coma will be the focus of “Spanish Model,” a new take on Elvis Costello and the 1978 Attractions release “This Year’s Model” starring Latin pop and rock stars.

Diaz sings “No Action”, the opening track.

The new album will feature Spanish recordings of the songs, over the original recordings of the Attractions instrumental tracks remixed by producer Sebastian Krys. The release is the brainchild of Costello and Krys.

“I am more than grateful to be a part of this project and to share a space with all the amazing artists and of course the legendary Elvis Costello and the attractions,” Diaz wrote in an email accompanying the press release announcing the news. version.

“Spanish Model,” an upcoming Spanish rendition of Elvis Costello’s 1978 album “This Year’s Model,” opens with a track by San Antonio musician Nina Diaz from Girl in a Coma.
