Samana Announces UK Tour Dates And Shares New Track “Patience”

Combining poetry, music and fine art, SAMANA returns with a series of concerts in the UK and their new single “Patience”. The track is taken from their upcoming album “All In One Breath”, which will be released on March 11.
After spending two years rebuilding a Georgian farmhouse in the wild Welsh countryside, Rebecca Rose Harris and Franklin Mockett packed their car with a fine selection of instruments and a tape recorder and drove to France for a three-year residency. weeks at the start of 2020. However, the world had different ideas and before the end of the first week they were given a simple choice: return home immediately or stay and break out of the impending lockdown which would force all borders to close indefinitely.
They decided to stay and keep working, a decision that would lead to a new record – the duo’s second full-length effort after 2019’s “Ascension” LP, which was lavishly championed by Elbow’s Guy Garvey. “All One Breath” continues Samana’s captivating musical journey, oscillating between different styles and musical influences, from progressive folk to an experimental and transcendental version of soul, blues and rock.
‘All One Breath’ can now be seen as a product of their time in the French countryside, and an ode to the exploration of silence, solitude and an unlimited sense of the destruction of time. It was all recorded in the old wooden barn where they stayed, and the rich, deep timbre of the space, as well as the inventiveness with which they created a “soundstage” in the barn, had a huge influence on the final sound; something raw but thoughtful and beautifully alive.
“Patience” offers a different take on their sound, the hypnotic six minutes characterized by the sing-song slide guitar and the smashing coda that suddenly bursts into a surprisingly propulsive instrumental finale of smashing drums and screaming guitars.
“Patience is a poem that manifests the speed of movement, the movement of body, mind and spirit. The song feels like confession, release and realization, with the words and music paralleling in a dialogue to navigate a journey of transcendence between a two-state pendulum.”
The Patience video was a collaboration between Samana and filmmaker Benjamin Wigley, created with ceremony and ritual during the summer solstice transition in the vast landscapes of North Wales.
“The film is a metamorphosis, a pilgrimage between the realms of the seen and the unseen. It taps into the mysticism of ancient mythology and folklore and pays homage to the silent magic that exists in the timeless wisdom of nature.”
In another world, Samana took a quick trip to Wales in early 2020 and cooked up something completely different. Luckily, we have “All One Breath” – a brooding, mysterious and fascinating snapshot of a time and place that was, at first, only informed by its own limitations, but found its release, its spark and its energy, in the depths of the plot. and imaginary. And aren’t we the lucky ones?
