Hip-hop fans were already mourning the deaths of rappers like Wavy Navy Pooh and Earl Swavey when they received another blow in the form of Sad Frosty. The Houston native passed away on Friday, January 14, as confirmed in his official Instagram post. News of the 24-year-old hip-hop entertainer’s disappearance was confirmed on Sunday, January 16.
While the hip-hop community has lost a bunch of rappers to natural causes, a few more have been murdered in 2021. Speaking of downed rappers, artist VNZA was murdered in Missouri in June. Brooklyn rapper Supa Gates also met a similar fate after he was shot multiple times in St John’s Place near Troy Avenue in Crown Heights on April 11. Chicago rapper KTS Dre also made headlines after being shot 64 times in the head and other parts of his body in July 2021. Bay Area rapper Mike Darole was another hip-hop artist who was shot dead during an attempted robbery in May 2021.

Sad Frosty’s cause of death is still unknown. None of the family members or friends have yet shared an official statement about it. MEAWW will keep you posted. Sad Frosty, whose real name is not yet known, remained less active on Instagram but regularly posted videos on YouTube with the intention of promoting his music. On Instagram, he had over 200,000 subscribers while on YouTube, he was close to reaching 100,000 subscribers. The rapper was also active on TikTok and reportedly logged onto the platform a few days ago by posting a short clip.
The sad news of the rapper’s death was shared via his Instagram account with the following caption: “Long Live Sad Frosty. 04/03/97 – 14/01/22. No other details were released about his disappearance. A verified Twitter user bid him farewell, saying, “DAMN MAN, RIP SAD FROSTY. IT WAS JUST TALKING TO U THE OTHER DAY MANE SMH. Sad Frosty rose to fame with his ‘ADHD Freestyle’. He then released a banger in collaboration with DC The Don called “Beavis & Butt-Head” which currently has 1.4 million views. His other songs include “Crib with a Lake,” “Pull Up,” “New Kicks,” and “Swerve,” among others.

Social media users were shocked after learning of Sad Frosty’s untimely death. “No fucking way. RIP Sad Frosty,” one stunned user said as another posted, “RIP Sad Frosty man. It’s so crazy when stuff like this happens. I don’t even know what to say anymore.” The following added: “This one hurts the man, another young artist gone too soon. Frosty sad RIP. Meanwhile, another tweeted: ‘This is so unexpected, sad and chilling.’
One person claimed, “That was unexpected, ASF can’t imagine Don feeling rn… RIP Sad Frosty”, as another said, “Yo rip sad frosty man a while ago I I dmed and my brother had the heart to respond. not many artists do that, I think that really says a lot about his character.
