Eric Krasno premiered a new single and music video for “Lost Myself”. This latest offering is the fifth single from his forthcoming album, Always, which will be released on February 4 via Label Mascot Group.

Arriving with horns of The Jazz Mafia, infectious handclaps and a foot tapping bassline, “Lost Myself” keeps the listener in a perpetual state of groove throughout its 3:31 running time. More than just an engaging, danceable track, the new single hears Kraz sing about the change that happens within ourselves when we find true love.

Although “it’s the funkiest track on the album,” according to the multi-hyphenate frontman, it’s also “about losing your ego when you find someone working for you.”

Krasno’s self-titled lyrics on the chorus, “I got lost when I found you”, highlight this sentiment, but it’s a theme that resurfaces throughout the album, evident on earlier singles. released as “So Cold”, “Silence”, “Alone Together”. , and “Leave me alone”. Always as a whole intends Kraz to emphasize the loyal permanence of family ties, defining himself as more than just a Lettuce and lift co-founder, singer, multi-instrumentalist and double grammys laureate, but as husband, father and man.

“Before 2020, I was having a great time, but I wasn’t grounded at all,” Krasno said in a press release accompanying the album announcement. “I went from concert to concert. I was still running aimlessly. Over the past year I have found my people when it comes to my wife and son. I have created a family that will always be there for me. That’s what the album is about. »

After collaborating with Otis McDonald on a recording of Bob Dylanof “The Man In Me”, Krasno knew he had found the perfect co-producer for his fourth solo album.

“My wife and I got married, bought a house and had a baby,” Krasno said in a press release. “I had heard the song many times before, but it never quite hit me the way it hit me. I recorded it with just acoustic guitar and vocals, and I loved what it sounded like. Otis made him. He sent him back to me, and I thought, “That’s exactly how I want to make my next record.”

Recording first virtually, then in the legendary Bay Area Hyde Street Studios—famous for hosting people like 2pac, the Grateful Dead, and Digital metro—Krasno and McDonald tapped into a common spirit as co-producers, recording the record and ultimately forming Eric Krasno and the Assembly with Otis on bass, Will Blades on keyboards and organ, Curtis Kelly on the battery, and James VIII on guitar and vocals. The band have since booked a number of live gigs.

“In the past, I personally felt like a guitarist, songwriter, and producer,” Krasno said. “Now I feel like an artist in my own right.”
