Charli XCX expects her flop to peak

From Icona Pop’s 2013 “I Love It” to the iconic clueless Iggy Azalea-themed music video, “Fancy,” English singer-songwriter Charli XCX has been living on radio stations for about a decade. Charli has evolved in terms of sound and constantly surpasses herself.

She is versatile and makes music of her own. Her piercing voice is perfect for all records, even melancholic soundtracks. A romantic drama, like Blame it on our stars by John Green, is probably not where an electro pop artist like Charli should sit, but “Boom Clap” fits right in there.

Charli rode the hyperpop wave for two years until she finally announced her next album CRASH, which will debut this year on March 18. And as part of her promotion, Charli’s visuals were strong and graphic – not for the faint-hearted.

“Good Ones” and “New Shapes”, featuring Christine and the Queens and Caroline Polachek, were singles Charli released in preparation for CRASH. We are far from Charli’s fourth album, how i feel now. It might be safe to assume that Charli is switching to an ’80s synthpop theme for this record, as she appears in sexy hairstyles and smoky, eye-catching eyeliner.

Last Thursday, Charli released “Beg For You” featuring Rina Sawayama, another single from her upcoming album. But with a disappointing start, it seems most fans were disappointed with this track. A disappointing sample of September’s “Cry For You” that makes you say “Wait, I know that song” and then immediately regret recognizing it. I can say that I was equally disappointed.

Starting today, Charli has reached a point where people will refer to her music almost as a standard, to help explain other music. Occasionally It is not a good thing, but most of the time it is. Clearly, Charli has been called a hyperpop icon – really well done.

how i feel now from 2020 was the perfect experimental pop soundtrack while many were on lockdown. It was fresh, new and unexpected. Opening with “pink diamond”, this disc immediately opens with an impressive production. “pink diamond” perfectly sets the tone for new music.

Unpredictable instrumentation, meter changes and syncopation are the exact nature of hyperpop and maximalism that make Charli’s music so appealing.

Now there’s been a bit of a rumor about how much effort she’s putting into this latest record, and all I can say is that she’s probably not happy about having to do one last disc after having a little conflict with Atlantic Records. Is it gossip?

Since 2013, Charli has released four studio albums and two mixtapes with her current label, Atlantic Records, and she is now due to release her fifth studio album as her contract comes to an end.

She even revealed on TikTok that she had a frustrating conversation with her record label after conveying her “authenticity” on social media. A seemingly minor thing like this may have caused this aggravated response. But Charli suggests otherwise.

Enough gossip. Is the song good or not? Allow me to beat around the bush a bit more – but in short, not really.

charlie tweeted this song was actually a ploy to get more “underground” music, allowing the music industry to see experimental music as more mainstream, an attempt to expand everyone’s palate.

My only concern is that not everyone is open to seeing 100 gecs sit on the same charts as mainstream music. The same way not everyone will stream Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3, and it will end up in the Billboard Top 100 — no matter how much you love it and think it’s “a total banger “.

It’s giving “How to get Yummy to #1” when Justin Bieber reposted a fan’s charts on how to game the music industry and get it to the top of the charts, but I digress.

I understand the sentiment, however. But I also understand that having your favorite artist’s sound change to fit the molds of the music industry is equally justified.

But Charli promises a “poptastic” record because she feels “v inspired”. I will say it’s good that we at least know how she feels now.
