Bailey James releases haunting ‘The Crow’ music video, dedicated to his late brother
Bailey James, has created another musical masterpiece. This one holds a special place in his heart as it is dedicated to his late brother Zane. The official music video for The Crow” is now available on VEVO.
“My brother had an affinity for crows. My dad now has a crow tattoo which my brother intended to do. Now when I see a crow I know it’s with me when they come when I need help or concentration.” – Bailey James For a song as haunting as Bailey James’ “The Crow,” it’s only fitting that the music video has visuals to match. Switching between aerial shots of a forest full of bare, gray winter trees, James walking through a field of uneven grass with crows flying overhead, and James around a house reminiscent of those built there centuries ago, video is able to capture the feeling of loneliness, desolation and cold winter that the song’s instrumental and lyrics convey.
Adding visual imperfections makes the overall video look older than it actually is; it’s a nice aesthetic touch. James is also barefoot throughout the video, which makes the viewer feel like she’s more connected to nature and the elements than most, comfortable enough to walk around without shoes. It makes sense that she sings to find the direction of a bird that can’t talk. The video reinforces the overall mood of the song without distracting or detracting from it, and that’s all it needs to do.
